“Go And Get ‘ EM” Matthew 28:19
It is the belief of the Evangelism Ministry that, according to the scripture, God has given every Christian an assignment, which is the great commission found in Matthew 28:19, to go beyond the church walls and share the good news gospel. It is our reasonable service to educate, equip and challenge each member of Memorial Baptist Church to take the liberating gospel to the world. Jesus was born, crucified, buried, and rose from the dead, So that all who receive and believe in him shall have the gift of eternal life. This is accomplished by various activities and different approaches in the areas of evangelizing.
Jesus evangelism methods were was very unique, in exercising many ways to evangelize, some conventional and others unconventional, but the needs of the people were met as they experience the Living Word.
Methods Used:
When Jesus went to evangelize, and was looking to employ some disciples, he went to the fishermen and told them that he would make them fishers of men.
When Jesus witnessed to the woman at the well, he talked to her about the Living water and then he gave her an invitation to come and drink.
So likewise the Evangelism Ministry also embarks on a variety of methods that engages the congregation on diverse methods of evangelizing.
We have accomplished this goal by employing Skits, All Night Prayer Services, Father’s Day Cards, Salvation Beads and Prayer breakfasts. We also have a Free Annual Community Picnic, to help meet the communities various needs.
We currently have the following events annually:
All Night Prayer: All Night Prayer Service is a time for the people of God to come together to hear the preached word every hour, to encourage young people (activities on prayer for the youth) and to pray for the lost and unsaved. It is also a time to reevaluate our spiritual walk and to recommit ourselves to the work of the kingdom and to be empowered as witnesses.
